Tochigi Table Jars

These table jars are great for seasoning, pickles or dips*. Made from pottery, the non-reactive nature of these containers help ensure food safety. These little beauties add a touch of elegance to the table. 

*It is not recommended to serve food that is high in salt or vinegar content in plastic/ metal receptacles as it will result in corrosion / leeching of chemicals, compromising food safety. 

Provenance:  Made in Tochigi Prefecture, known as the home of folk art. The inside is adorned with "persimmon glaze", and is known to be highly water-resistant and durable.

Care instructions: Microwave and dish washer safe. However, hand washing is highly recommended for longevity. Do not put on direct heat on gas/ induction stoves. Avoid soaking the container or sudden changes in temperature as it may cause damage to the product.  Store in a well-ventilated area.
